Villa 121 focuses on the 1920′s through the 1940′s, themed as “The Harlem Renaissance”, when an unprecedented outburst of creative activity among African-Americans occurred in all fields of the arts, as well as intellectuals in the political and religious arena, “The Harlem Renaissance”. The Harlem Renaissance represents the unique culture of African-Americans, and re-defined African-American expression and awareness.
Villa 121 is owned and operated by artists who are the third owners of this Harlem Mansion. Located in the heart of the beautiful restored and historical landmark district of Mount Morris Park (aka Marcus Garvey Park).
A variety of guest rooms featuring a nostalgic New Harlem Renaissance setting, beautifully appointed with original antiques and art by Harlem artists. A roomy parlor, dining room, and kitchen furnished in authentic original antiques are available for the guests to enjoy and relax while viewing original artworks by the resident artist in the art gallery . The guest rooms occupy two top floors of this five-story brownstone.
