This is a splendid and cozy find in the heart of Harlem. I am impressed by the level of detail and creativity that has gone into the decoration of the rooms and the home-grown comfort that I felt because of the hospitality of the hosts.
Villa 121 is definitely the perfect place to stay in NYC. Location is very convenient, subway station is just within walking distance and takes less than 30 minutes to downtown Manhattan. Our room was clean, spacious and very well maintained. The best of all is our hosts, who greeted us with their warmest welcome even on our late arrival. They’ve made our stay in their place a very pleasant one.
My recent stay as a guest with Peggy and Lloyd Toone was the epitome of class and comfort! They truly were very gracious and welcoming. The spacious room & exquisite artwork made for a wonderful sanctuary during my vacation. It will be a place that I will return to many times! Definitely a ***** rating!
Bei Peggy fand ich einen außergewöhnlichen Ort zum Wohnen: geschmackvoll und liebevoll, mit vielen hübschen und künstlerischen Dingen eingerichtet. Das Zimmer war gemütlich und sauber, ebenso wie das wunderbare Badezimmer. Peggy und ihr Mann waren ausgesprochen hilfsbereit, verbindlich und gastfreundlich. Sie halfen, wo sie nur konnten;-) Ich empfehle die Villa121 jedem, der einen außergewöhnlichen Urlaub in New York City verbringen möchte. Ich gebe der Villa 5 Sterne!
[once again in English:] Peggy’s place was an extraordinary place to live: tasteful and cosy, nice furniture and exquisite art work. The room was comfortable and clean, as was the lovely bathroom. Peggy and her husband were absolutely supportive, reliable and hospitable. They helped in any possible situation. I highly recommend Villa121 to everyone who wishes to spend a unique vacation in New York City. Five Stars!
I absolutely adore Villa 121! My New York experience was simply amazing by having a place to stay that felt like home. Everything was very clean and the decor of the house was breathtaking. Peggy and Lloyd have this comforting hospitality that make you feel like family. I will recommend this place to all my family and friends. I can’t wait to go back! 5 stars and then some!
This place is dazzlingly beautiful! Our stay there was wonderful. Once we stepped into the foyer of the Villa we knew we had chosen the right place to stay, warm, cozy, welcoming and an oasis of calm after all the hustle and bustle of Times Square. And Peggy and Llyod were unbelievably friendly and helpful. We would [will] certainly stay there again. Thank you for everything. The slovenian.
Villa 121
If you are interested in a place to stay in NYC that is comfortable, convenient and better appointed then anyplace I have stayed in the city, Villa 121 is the place. Peggy and Lloyd are perfect host, gracious, knowledgeable and with a warm sense of humor. They are both artist and the place is tastefully filled with amazing sculpture and paintings.
They have restored a classic Harlem stone building and retained all of the charm and ambiance of Harlem in it’s golden era.
Beautiful accommodations in a tastefully decorated building in a classic neighborhood.
… It’s where I’ll stay whenever I’m in New York.
VIlla 121 is simply amazing!! the rooms are very cozy,comfy and tasteful with a perfect mix of beauty of an old architecture and a gorgeous art works of Lloyd.
The neighborhood contains full of charm and very convenient location to the city with few stops on metro but all of those benefits are merely a bonus.
The most amazing is the warm and welcoming hospitality of Peggy and Lloyd.
Great history and amazing story of them to hear that inspired us so much.
They were more than hosts to us and i think we have found another heart at home in Harlem! Looking forward to going back and chatting with Peggy and Lloyd again!
I only wish all guests could be like you. You are obviously seasoned travelers and we love hosting such considerate and people. We hope you make our home your home away from home in New York.
This a wonderful bed and breakfast to spend time, whle in New York. It is quaint, clean and comfortable. The owners are gracious and kind. I would highly recommend it!!!!.

This beautifully designed home has character ,charm and encompasses the essence of the Harlem renaissance.i enjoyed the areas landmarks all in walking distance . The Villas art was breathtaking and the Toones were the perfect hosts.Villa 121 is perfect for the air low key business traveler.. 100% satisfied!
Superbe Maison tenue par un couple sympathique et accueillant.Les chambres sont situées dans une rue tranquille dans le quartier de harlem Pas de soucis pour la sécurité, les chambres sont grandes propres et disposent de tout les commodités nécessaires.(famille de 5 personnes.
La Station de métro et de Bus est à 200 mètres et permet de relier le centre ville Time square en 20 minutes. D’autre part pour s’évader il y a la gare de la 125 ième rue, ce qui permet en empruntant un train régional de faire de magnifique ballades dans la campagne américaine en particulier le long de l’hudson river. Pour manger il y a plusisurs restaurants dans les environs.
Je vous recomande volontier cette appartement de vacance malgrés que je n’ai pas vu de cuisine.

Superb house run by a friendly and welcoming couple. The rooms are located on a quiet street in the neighborhood of Harlem.
No worries about security, the rooms are large, clean and have all the necessary amenities. (Family of 5).
The Metro Bus is 200 meters and is used to connect the downtown Times Square in 20 minutes. Also the subway station in 125 th Street, which allows taking a regional train to make beautiful walks in New York, in particular along the Hudson River. There are several restaurants in the area.
I will gladly recommend this holiday apartment although I have not seen any kitchen.
