From Newark International Airport:
Option 1: Take the Olympia bus to the Port Authority bus terminal at 42nd Street and Eighth Avenue (about 30 – 45 minutes depending on traffic). Then walk along 42nd Street from Eighth Avenue to Seventh Avenue (Times Square). Take the Uptown 2 or 3 train to 116th Street. From there it is about a five minute walk to bed and breakfast.
Cost of bus: $15, Cost of subway: $2.75, or you could catch a cab from midtown (42nd Street): about $15.
Option 2: Take the AirTrain/NJ transit to New York Penn Station (about 35 minutes). Transfer to the Uptown 2 or 3 train to 116th Street. From there it is about a five minute walk to bed and breakfast.
Cost of train: $15, Cost of subway: $2.75
Option 3: Take any cab, which can cost from $50 – $70 (plus tolls $11). Be careful with this option, as the cab drivers from New Jersey may not know the City that well and your fare may get even higher. Very expensive option.
Option 4: Set up a pick-up by Carmel Limo Cost $43 – $50 (depending on time of day), tolls ($11) and tip not included.
From Port Authority Bus Terminal:
Walk one block to 42nd Street and Broadway/7th Avenue. Take the 2 or 3(Uptown) train to 116th Street. From there walk 4 blocks north approximately 5 minutes to bed and breakfast.
From downtown by subway:
Take the 2 or 3 (Uptown) train to 116th Street. Walk up Lenox Avenue, turn right on West 120th Street. Make sure you do not take the 1 or 9 train.
Metrocards can be bought in any denomination more than $2.25. In addition there is a daily $8.25 Metrocard (unlimited rides for the day you first use it), a weekly metrocard for $27. If you buy a regular metrocard for $20, you get 15% additional added to the face value of your card, i.e. 10 trips for the price of 9 with $0.50 balance. For more information go to the MTA website.
